Are tongue depressors and craft sticks the same?
I need craft sticks for my science project so i would like to know if i can shorten my trips from 4 to 3. Staples doesn't have craft sticks but they do have tongue depressors. So are they the same
Use Hobby Lobby or Michaels or MJ Designs or other hobby store, or a look under hobby or craft stores in your local yellow pages. They all sell craft making supplies made out of wood. mostly the places like Staples are for office supplies, with a limited bit of art class supplies mostly for little kids. A tongue depresser is like the wide flat stick with rounded ends that the doctor hold down your tongue with while he looks at your throat. A craft stick is usually like a popsicle stick. The hobby or craft stores have a variety of sizes so you can pick the ones you need. If you get in a real bind and need the wide ones, go to your doctor or clinic and ask if you can pay for about 50 of them....they get them for less than a penny apiece usually. I did this in a pinch and the nurse just handed me a couple handfuls and said "no charge" since I was a patient....If you need real skinny ones, they are sometimes sold at restaurant supply stores or office supply stores and called wooden coffee stirrers,and come in boxes of 500.
