Social Worker

It means to be a social worker?
What studies are needed? What degree allows you to become a social worker, if social services are not offered at your high school? Do you have certification or approval? Do you offer internships? Basically, what I can wait in the education process of all this?
I specialize in social work at the time, and want to work for the welfare of the child. Here in Texas, at school I attend, is a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW) and a program PhD. BSW includes internships and volunteer work with various practical classes. The program requires 400 to 500 hours under the supervision of a worker office. Once a BSS is obtained can find a job in the field. However, the BSW is the minimum required. And most jobs today require further study. An SMR specialized assistance in a given area and requires 900 hours of surveillance. Some states require to be licensed in the levels of MSW and BSW. This can be done written or oral examinations. This site has lots of good information and statistics on employment and wages.
