Food Lab for Biology, I need food ideas, help?
Okay so I have 19 students in my class including me. Each of the students in my class have to bring in a food but no one can bring the same thing. Also, each student has to bring enough of that food for everyone in the class. (nineteen people) I have no idea what to bring, no idea what I could make enough for everyone and something that no one else would bring also something that isn't very expensive. My teacher said she would have a grill and stove thing in class along with a microwave, refrigerator, and ice. Some other students have already mentioned bringing macoroni and cheese, burgers, hot dogs, mashed potatoes, brownies, cake, cookies, steak, shrimp, and other things. Please help me with idea's of what to take. If it is something you think I might not have heard of before tell me some of the ingredients and some information on how to make it. Appetizer Chicken Kabobs -- You can also add pineapple!! Yummy!!
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into 1 inch pieces
6 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, stems removed
DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, combine first five ingredients. Stir in chicken and onion; allow to marinate for 30 minutes. Soak wooden skewers in water. On each skewer, thread a piece of chicken, onion, mushroom and another chicken piece. Place on a broiler rack. Broil 5 in. from the heat, turning and basting with marinade after 3 minutes. Continue broiling for another 3 minutes or until chicken is done. Serve immediately.

Brown Sugar Smokies --
INGREDIENTS
1 (16 ounce) package little smokie sausages
1 pound bacon
1 cup brown sugar, or to taste
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cut bacon into thirds and wrap each strip around a little sausage. Place the wrapped sausages on wooden skewers, several to a skewer. Arrange the skewers on a baking sheet and sprinkle them liberally with brown sugar.
Bake until bacon is crisp and the brown sugar melted.

Salsa Guacamole --
INGREDIENTS
6 ripe avocados, halved, pitted and peeled
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup salsa
2 green onions, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt or salt-free seasoning blend
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Tortilla chips
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, mash avocados with lemon juice. Stir in salsa, onions, salt and garlic powder. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Pretzel Fruit Pizza --
INGREDIENTS
3 cups finely crushed pretzels
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups cold butter or margarine
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup lime juice
1 tablespoon grated lime peel
1 1/2 cups whipped topping
7 cups Assorted fresh fruit
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, combine pretzels and sugar; mix well. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into a 14-in. pizza pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack; refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine milk, lime juice and peel. Fold in whipped topping; spread over crust. Cover and chill. Top with fruit just before serving.

Asparagus Bruschetta --
INGREDIENTS
3 cups water
1/2 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
2 cups grape tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup minced fresh basil
3 green onions, chopped
3 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons grated lime peel
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
12 slices French baguette, toasted
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add the asparagus; cover and boil for 2-4 minutes. Drain and immediately place asparagus in ice water. Drain and pat dry.
In a bowl, combine the asparagus, tomatoes, basil, onions, lime juice, oil, garlic, lime peel, salt and pepper. Using a slotted spoon, spoon asparagus mixture onto bread. Sprinkle with blue cheese.

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings --
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups honey
6 tablespoons soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 pounds chicken wings
DIRECTIONS
Heat honey, soy sauce, and garlic in a saucepan until boiling.
Place the wings in the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking pan, and pour the honey mixture over the chicken. Cover with foil. Marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight.
Bake, covered, at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 1 hour; turn the wings after 1/2 hour. Remove the foil cover, and bake for 15 minutes. Take the wings out of the sauce, and bake on a rack for 10 minutes. Turn the chicken wings, and cook for another 10 minutes.
