Which is better laser or optical mouse?
With laser I also see different dpi (1000-4000). Average standard being 1600 from what I can see. Will you really notice a difference getting one over 1600? I don't even think a computer screen has that many pixels per inch to notice a difference in the mouse moving? Is there a certain color mouse pad that works better with laser or optical too?
Laser is better than optical. I wouldn't worry about going above 1600 dpi unless you have a workstation with a high-res monitor that you're using for detailed, intensive design work. As for mouse pad, whatever you want should be okay; just don't try to use the mouse directly on glass since that can cause reflection problems.
