Can I use hair rubber bands for my braces, until I get some new orthodontic elastics?
I have braces, and I have been wearing rubber bands for the past month...I accidentally threw my last pack of elastics, and the orthodontist will be closed for 4-5 days, and I don't want my teeth to shift back, so will wearing hair rubber bands harm? or could I get away with it?
I kno it sounds a bit extreme, but I really don't want my teeth to shift!!!
I am a college student...not a little kid...lol
Go to ANY open orthodontist and get the elastics. These professionals are all acquainted with each other and won't mind a bit helping out another colleague's patient. Even some dentists might have a pack or two of these (needed for patients who get dental cleaning or work done and they have to be removed and or break during treatment).
If you know another kid with braces, have your mom call their mom and ask. You would certainly share yours with somebody.
