Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. There is no known cure or treatment for ALS – in fact the prognosis of this disease is quite grim with complete paralysis and death usually within 2-5 years after diagnosis.
Approximately 3,000 Canadians currently live with ALS. Every day, two or three Canadians die of ALS. Through the ALS Run for Shelly and your support, we can increase ALS awareness and raise funds for local research.
100% of donations received will go towards local ALS research!
