Did I hit a blood vessel? What should I do?
I am FTM. I inject .5 mL (100mg) of testosterone cypionate intramuscularly every week (I have been doing this for over 10 months). I never had blood in the syringe so I got lazy about aspirating. This time I had a lot of pain during the injection and when I pulled the needle out, blood spurted everywhere. Never had anything like that happen before. I am concerned that I hit a blood vessel. I don't know whether it's possible that I injected directly into my bloodstream. If I did, I expect I will start to feel sick rather shortly. In that case, will it pass through my system quickly? Will I have to inject again? I promise to always aspirate from now on.
It sounds to me like you may have injected it directly into an blood vessel, or otherwise stuck the needle through a blood vessel. If you had injected directly into the vessel you would begin to feel sick within minutes. Chances are good that you simply went though one. If you begin to feel sick just lie down and take it easy for a while. It should pass within an hour or two, depending on several factors (your weight, tolerance, metabolism, etc.). If you begin to experience severe vomiting, feel disoriented, have an irregular heart beat, blurry vision, or any sort of breathing issue then call for medical assistance immediately. You should be okay though. And I would ask your prescribing physician whether you should or shouldnt inject again, although I would say that you probably will not.
